Undoing the Knots / Summer 2015
Event: World Meeting of Families, September 26 & 27
So, apparently, the Pope is coming to Philly?...

We are pumped to join lead artist Meg Saligman (Meg Saligman Studios) and Project HOME in welcoming Pope Francis to Philadelphia with a commemorative "knot grotto". This collaborative effort has been dubbed Undoing the Knots, a nod to Pope Francis' favorite painting entitled Mary, Undoer of Knots, and will feature thousands of prayers, well wishes and hopes written on strips of fabric and collected by Saligman and her team of volunteers. These strips of fabric will be woven throughout a 10 foot, free-standing sculpture as envisioned by Saligman and constructed by us and our A-team of assistant fabricators.
The "knot grotto" will be installed on the grounds of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Logan Square (center city Philadelphia) on August 29 and will remain on site throughout the papal visit (September 27 and 28).
Get a sneak peak of the finished grotto in all of its glory (and add your own prayer or wish) before it takes its maiden voyage from our pop-up studio in Sherman Mills to the Basillica. We will be hosting a "Pope Grotto Preview Party" on Thursday August 27 from 5pm to 9pm. Libations and snacks for all!
